Here you will find news from me, Cathy LaReau, secretary for the Sawyer County Snowmobile & ATV Alliance (SCSAA). Wondering when and where our Alliance meets? The Alliance meets on the third Tuesday of every month other than April, when we hold our annual banquet. Below I will post Sawyer County Alliance meeting announcements, agendas, and any other information I feel the public might find useful- straight from the secretary’s desk!
Our monthly Alliance meetings are held at various business sponsor locations throughout Sawyer County and are run by our 4 Alliance officers: President Dan Schauder, Vice President Jesse Reglin, Secretary Cathy LaReau, and Treasurer Lori DeJoode. Club delegates and members from each of the 10 snowmobile and ATV clubs in the Alliance, attend these meetings to conduct Alliance business.
Snowmobile and ATV enthusiasts, law enforcement representatives, landowners, and others connected to our sports in some way, are invited to our meetings – please reach out to me if you plan to attend, so we can accommodate you or your group. My email is cathy@sawyercountytrails.com

After a meeting, I may or may not post notes- if I do, they will be general meeting topics that might be of interest to the public. I will not post actual meeting minutes, sensitive, or financial data here.

Hosted By: Winter Huskies Snowmobile Club
Location: Helsing’s Bar
Time: 6 PM- Trail Captains meeting, 7 PM- Meal and General Meeting
Meeting Notes: Jesse Reglin was re-elected as VP, and Lori DeJoode was re-elected as Treasurer. The motorcycle group ‘Abate’, gave a presentation about laws and bills that affect motorized sports.
Tue April 8, 2025: Alliance Annual Banquet – No Monthly Meeting
This year’s banquet will be hosted by the Loretta Trailblazers and held at Big Bear Lodge in Winter, WI

Meeting notes:
Discussion on groomer equipment repairs and reports from each club. Tough season on grooming equipment because of the thin snow cover.
The Alliance formed ad hoc committees for the upcoming annual Alliance awards and a nominating committee for the positions of VP and treasurer coming up this year.
The Fundraising Committee described our planned fundraisers and possible changes.
Tue January 21, 2025: Alliance Monthly Meeting
6 pm- Trail Captains Meeting followed by a meal and the General Alliance Meeting at 7 pm
LOCATION: Weber’s Northwoods Tavern (formerly Blackiron Bar & Grill)
MEETING NOTES:
Deputy Jensen from the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department spoke to our group about snowmobile and ATV safety, report on tickets, issues, and accidents from last year.
Status of UTV use on Sawyer County Forestry trails – panning trails had begun so UTVS ARE NOT ALLOWED on county forest trails.
Discussion about numerous lake ice-heaves and warning signage that has been ordered.
