Wisconsin Mid-Year Update on fatalities

Statistics from the WI DNR and WISDOT

Recently, I’ve been seeing reports about ATV fatalities across social media and news sites, so I thought I’d look up statistics to find out where we are at. Please do not think I am dismissive when it comes to fatalities – every death is awful, but I’m simply trying to report on the data I found as of today.

From the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources; the ATV fatality report as of June 11, 2025, shows a total of 17 deaths in Wisconsin. These 17 are further broken down: 6 occurred on private property, 5 on frozen waterways, 5 on roads or routes, and 1 on a public trail.

Again from the DNR; boating fatalities as of June 9, 2025 total 5.

Statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation state that 200 fatalities occurred as of June 9, 2025, on Wisconsin roads. These figures include 26 motorcycle deaths, 17 pedestrian fatalities, and 2 bicyclists.

I could dive deeper into other areas, but I don’t have time today. Just thought this information would be interesting to know.

You can find all the same statistics on both the WI DNR website and the WISDOT website.

Be safe out there folks. There is a finality to death that your family would not want.
